Klein Miller established Old South Construction, Inc. in 1990. Klein spent twenty years working in the ready mix concrete business and portland cement industry. He began building custom homes part time in 1990 and full time in 2000. Klein was born and raised among the many plantations in southern Louisiana. He acquired a taste for authentic southern architecture at an early age.
At the age of six, two of Klein’s relatives built homes, which were designed by the late architect A. Hays Town. Little did he know then, that these very ideas and designs would strongly influence his own work some forty years later.
Klein takes a personal interest in locating unique materials to authenticate his building projects. He travels to southern Mississippi and Louisiana to locate materials such as old pine and cypress for beams, flooring, doors, windows and cabinets and used brick for exterior finishes and flooring. Klein is a Florida licensed residential contractor and a member of the West Florida Home Builder’s Association, Florida Home Builder’s Association and the National Association of Home Builders.
Klein’s wife, Marcy, was raised in New Orleans and is the company Chief Financial Officer. She is an honors accounting graduate of Louisiana State University and a certified public accountant licensed in Louisiana and Florida. Marcy worked locally for 30 years in the accounting industry before taking over the financial duties of the company.
Klein and Marcy enjoy working together to provide unique custom homes of the highest quality for their clients. They pride themselves on developing and maintaining good relationships with their clients and strive to make the building process a pleasurable experience.
